Maximus Seven: Slamming Doors

I just got the call that I am going to be needed as a movie extra this weekend. Words cannot express my excitement, and I can't wait to tell Soleil. I don't want to tell her over a text message, so I go over to her dorm even though I'm not sure if she is out of class yet. I finally got a car, it's kind of small and quite the clunker appearance wise, but it runs well, which was what I needed. I figure later on I can get a better car.

I park in Soleil's driveway and walk in the front door, deciding to play some pool. As soon as I set up the pool balls and break them, the front door opens. I look up, hoping it's Soleil, but it's not and I'm slightly disappointed.

What walked in the door isn't unpleasant, however, as it is a blonde girl with a smoking hot figure. I keep playing pool and waiting for Soleil, when someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn around to see the blonde girl standing in front of me.

"Eh, excusez-moi? Em, excuse me? Can you help me?"

Wow, she's French? Her accent is really sexy and she has green eyes, similar to mine. I smile politely at her, and walk to the other side of the table so she's not so close to me.

"What is it that you need help with?"

Unfortunately, the blonde follows me and stands near me again. I'm not sure why she keeps doing that other than she's trying to flirt with me or something.

"I am new here at the university, and I was wondering if you could tell me where the financial loan office is? I have to get some of my loans confirmed. Also, maybe it would be tres bien to walk there with someone as handsome as you, no?"

I walk away from her, backing into the pool table. The blonde comes up very close to me, and I notice her perfume. I am uncomfortable with her invading my personal space, and very unhappy that she is touching my chest.

"Um no, I don't actually know where the office is because I don't go to school here. I'm just dating a girl who is."

"Oh, you have a girlfriend? Pardonnez-moi. I'm em, sorreee."

I smile at the blonde, and let her know it's okay that she flirted with me because she didn't know I had a girlfriend.

"Em, do you know, ou est, em, where I can find someone who will know?"

"Oh yeah, there are some other people who actually live here, my sister, she has long brown hair, and blue eyes. I don't know if she's here, but good luck finding her."

The blonde smiles at me, and I smile back before going back to my pool game. She taps me on the shoulder again.

"Em, desole, je m'appelle Noelle. My name. What is yours?"

"I'm Max. Nice to meet you."

"Enchante, Max. Em, merci. Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Suddenly I see Helena in the corner of my eye. Noelle goes over to her, but Helena just yells at the poor girl and walks away. Noelle storms off out the front door, and slams it shut.

I'm annoyed now because Helena is such a bitch. I have no idea what her problem is other than she needs to get laid. The stick up her ass she's had her whole life is still there, and apparently it has gotten much longer and much more anal. I debate yelling at her, but decide that maybe I should just give her the silent treatment. I'm not her father, but I always feel like I am the one to knock sense into her head when she acts like an idiot, and I'm tired of it. I was excited when I came over today, but now I'm not. She managed to ruin my day without even talking to me. I decide to leave and go home, Soleil wasn't here, and I don't want to be here if she's not. I leave the dorm, slamming the door behind me.

I see Max leave the house after that girl does. He's probably out there chasing her like the man whore he's always been. I can't believe he would do that to Soleil, especially after she told me how much she liked him in the car ride over here. I check the calendar on the wall where we've posted our class schedules, and see that Soleil will be back in about an hour. I have to tell her what I saw so she will be protected from further pain. It's better that she knows now than later, after she's been with the douche for a long time. I snicker as I think that's probably why he wanted to be an actor, to get time away from Soleil so he could kiss all the pretty girls at those trashy parties they always have. The front door opens and Soleil comes in. She doesn't say anything to me and makes a beeline for the bathroom. When she comes out, I make my move.

"Soleil, are you all right?"

"Yeah, I'm just feeling a little sick. It's nothing."

"I have to tell you something."

"Helena, why the hell are you looking at me all somber?"

"Max flirted with another girl today. He was here playing pool and this blonde girl came in. They were standing really close to each other and giggling."

"Whatever, Helena, I don't believe you."

"Soleil, he touched her arm and then he left with her."

"What? He left with her?"

"Yeah, shortly after she left, he quit playing pool and left as well."

Soleil looks at me sadly at first, then angrily, then her expression becomes blank. I've seen that look enough to know that's not a good thing because that means she's really angry.

"Helena, I can't deal with your bullshit right now, I'm going to go lay down."

"Soleil, just remember what I said, okay? He's always going to be a player, no matter how much you like him. I'm always looking out for you."

Soleil glares at me before slamming her bedroom door, and I don't know if anything I said sank in or not.

What the fuck is Helena trying to do to me? All the time? She's always like this. I thought Max got it into her stupid head that we're fine! Maybe he didn't get it into her head, or maybe she just forgot. I lean on the dresser and I can't stop the tears from coming down my face. Helena is such a bitch all the time. I am so emotional lately, and I haven't told anyone why. I lied to Helena, I know why I'm sick. I'm scared of how I'll juggle everything after the baby arrives.

I'm terrified of telling Max because I know it's his, and somehow I don't think that him finding out he has a child is going to go over very well. I know I want to keep it because I can't bear the thought of throwing away something that is a little part of Max. I'm pretty sure the feelings I have for him could be described as love, but I'm scared to tell him that. I know that he likes me a lot, but I don't know if he's ready for this, I know I'm not.
