Echoes Liebster Award -
Sometimes this page will be under construction as I answer more questions from other people who've nominated me. If you click it and it says This post does not exist, it's because I'm editing it. Just check back later, to see if it's back.

Welcome to Echoes of Eternity! If you're new to the blog, I recommend starting at the beginning because I write everything very interconnected, so the story will make no sense if you start at a newer post.

Start At the Beginning

If you're a regular reader who is all caught up, and just want to see the newest post, here it is.

If you're somewhere in between, go to the Chapters tab up at the top of the blog to see the full list of chapters on this blog. I will try my best to keep that Chapters list updated.

Basic Info

I started this blog intending it to be a ten generation legacy story, using Maximus Zenteri-Hunt as my founder. He is a born-in-game Sim from my 100 baby challenge, and his father, Alexander Hunt, was donated by MrsOogie Boogie. In the baby challenge, I was kicking children out left and right, but I couldn't bring myself to kick Max out, with the potential of never seeing him again. I decided to create this spin-off story so I could play with him some more. This legacy is story-driven, meaning I'm not going to be just marrying Sims off and getting them knocked up, it means I will be developing personalities, making up events, and creating a life for each heir. I came up with the title of this blog from the movie Gladiator. I thought the quote "What we do in life echoes in eternity," seemed fitting for a legacy story. I write heavy on the plot lines because I find it fun to make up elaborate stories. I like suspense and thrills, so the story won't be just about the babies, and there will be occasional cliffhangers.

Echoes of Eternity is a patriarchy, which means all heirs will be male.

Navigation

The links at the top are pretty self explanatory, as far as the Chapters, Family Tree, and Credits page go. However, the Names and Vortex tab might not be as obvious.

  • Names - I go into a little behind the scenes of where I got the names for some of my characters. Several commenters have said they like names I have chosen, which sparked my reason for creating the tab.
  • Vortex - Sometimes my Sims guest star in others' stories. I have a few of them on The Exchange at the sims3.com, so some of them have been downloaded. This page has a few links to some people who have used my Sims in their stories.
The gadgets on the side are links to other stories I've written, as well as my Wordpress and Simblr sites. The gadgets on the bottom are links to stories by other people that I like to read, which is getting repopulated after I redesigned the blog. I am more likely to continue reading a story if the author replies to comments I've written to them.

Comments

Feel free to leave me comments, even on a really old post. I reply to all comments, as I have my blog set up to notify me when I get one. All I ask is that you follow the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." Please be respectful, do not attack me as a writer, such as call me names or leave hate mail, refrain from asking me when my next update will be as I do not have a schedule for updating, and please do not treat my site as an advertising agency, meaning don't drop your link to your story in a comment and just leave. Sometimes I will take a few days to answer, just because of life being busy, but I will always reply.

However, if you would like to vent your frustration about a certain character, feel free to do so. I don't write all of my characters as "perfect," meaning everyone has flaws, just like real people, and so some of my characters will probably irritate you. I encourage discussion about things I write, even if you don't agree with what's in the story. Just disagree respectfully, and always point any anger towards the character, and not me personally. LOL. Also, as a random note, just because I write a certain character a certain way, it doesn't mean that I believe what the character is doing. I feel like that's the point of a story, some characters will be less tasteful than others because that's necessary for the plot line. Very emotional comments are welcomed, and even encouraged, I like to see that my story is stirring up emotions in my readers, swearing is fine in a comment, if you feel the need to do so, I write swearing into the chapters, so I don't mind. Length of comment also does not matter, I know some people feel as if they're being a burden if they leave a really long comment, but I do not mind. I could never consider any of my readers a burden.

Leaving a Link

I know some of you are new writers and it's possible you need to get some more publicity for your story. As I've said before, I wouldn't prefer you to drop a link in the comment and then just leave because it kind of makes me feel like you don't really want to read my story, and that you were just using my story as an ad agency.

BUT... that's not to say I refuse people who would like to leave me links. In the comments section, there is a drop down selection for how you want to leave your name. Choose the one that says "Name/URL" and it will give you a space to enter a URL. After you post the comment with this name, your name will be linked to your site. This is often how I find new stories, and it's the best way to leave me a link without being obvious about it.

  1. OMG! I'm so excited! *Pumps fist* Wow I feel kind of pathetic being so excited over a sim, but Max is truly awesome! I'm excited to read the first chapter. Heading there now!

    1. No, actually I don't post download links for my Sims. I'm a bit... hmm, attached to them, I guess, so I don't put the heirs especially, up for download. I had kind of a bad experience back in the day when I had Max as a download link, because someone downloaded him, didn't tell me, and changed him to a different life state, then also didn't credit me as making him and it just really turned me off to the whole thing. I'm sorry if that's disappointing, LOL, but yeah, I'd be probably more inclined to let someone download a supporting character, but for now I don't have links to anyone. I'm happy to hear you like Patrick so much though. XD
